The senseless killing of people of color has spurred conversations about society’s perception of the hoodie. Simply put: if you are black and you are wearing a hoodie, YOU ARE CONSIDERED A THREAT. We want you to help us DE-STIGMATIZE clothing trends associated with people of color. The Humanize My Hoodie Project is a BORN LEADERS UNITED capsule collection. HUMANIZING THE CULTURE THROUGH ART
Humanize My Hoodie is a National Art Exhibit dismantling
the stigma of black people in hoodies.
We seek to further the discussion with hoodies that seek to dismantle the stigma associated with clothing. The plan is to have this be a traveling exhibit across the world to highlight this important conversation.
WORKSHOP
The Humanize My Hoodie Ally Workshop is a chance for selected participants to come together in solidarity. Designed in the spirit of community, this is a training for white allies who want to be a part but who might not know how. Be prepared to leave wanting to put on your hoodie and walk your streets in love and respect, ready to answer questions and promote awareness.
